IT is will enormous delight that The Digital Commonwealth can announce that The Rt Hon Patricia Scotland KC, Secretary-General of The Commonwealth of Nations, will be delivering the Founders Invitational Address at this Friday’s Mansion House Summit.

The summit - held at one of the most impressive venues in the City of London - has gathered some of the finest minds in the fields of blockchain, Web3, digital assets, AI and fintech industries for a day of high-level debate and networking.

The discussion panels and also the new ICE Stage start-up even wrap around the prestigious three-course lunch in the magnificent Egyptian Hall.

It is during this silver service lunch that the now famous Founders Invitational Address is delivered. This Friday, it is the turn of Baroness Scotland of Asthal - diplomat, barrister and politician, serving as the sixth secretary-general of the Commonwealth of Nations.

"This is a major milestone for The Digital Commonwealth as we continue to advance innovation, collaboration, and impact across the Commonwealth and beyond," said James Bowater - founder and CEO of The Digital Commonwealth.

"There can be no greater herald of our actions to strengthen our ties with Commonwealth nations and further afield than by hosting the Secretary General of The Commonwealth here at Mansion House.

"What better way to showcase the position of The Digital Commonwealth as a principal flag-bearer in the shaping of the future of tech and fostering collaboration for shared success?"

Baroness Scotland's attendance at the summit also marks a legacy statement for the Commonwealth's Virtual Assets Common Law which was officially adopted at the Commonwealth Law Ministers' Meeting in Tanzania following remarkable work by Loretta Joseph - an ambassador of The Digital Commonwealth.

Earlier this year, the tireless advocate for blockchain and distributed ledger technology was honoured with a Pro Bono Heroes Award in Westminster by Baroness Scotland.

"As a non-lawyer and a simple woman who has always strived to change the world through technology for future generations, I feel deeply proud and humbled that Baroness Patricia Scotland, Secretary-General of the Commonwealth of Nations, entrusted me as the expert lead on this model law," said Loretta, who is also Managing Director of The Policy Group and consultant to Jamaica's Financial Services Commission.

"Her drive, determination, and courage in empowering me and other experts to craft this law will be her lasting legacy - not only for the Commonwealth but for the global community.

"Despite the challenges and pushback we faced, we have created a legacy that future generations will benefit from. The Commonwealth is a family, and together we will ensure that no one is left behind as we transform digital finance and emerging technologies, democratising society at an unprecedented pace."
