UK and India agree deal that will boost AI development

THE UK has agreed a new technology initiative with India aimed at fuelling growth across emerging technologies like artificial intelligence.

It is understood the agreement will see an advancement in collaboration on technologies like quantum, AI and semiconductors.

"This will mean real action together on the challenges of the future from AI to critical minerals," said David Lammy, British Foreign Secretary.

"Together we can unlock mutual growth, boost innovation, jobs and investment."

Following discussions with India's Prime Minister - Narendra Modi - and the country's Minister for External Affairs, Lammy agreed to work with New Delhi on a raft of technoogy initiatives.
